We advise you wear your makeup in your normal style. Simply apply it slightly heavier than normal. Note: Avoid makeup with an SPF in it. Although it is good for your skin in the sun, the SPF tends to create a shine. You can further control shine by using a translucent powder. All of your finished portraits will be retouched so don't worry if your complexion breaks out right before your session. Try not to over-do the tanning bed or sun. Your skin will have a natural luster and color if you let it rest from tanning for three days before your session.
Avoid changing your hairstyle or cutting your hair right before your session. Haircuts should be made at least a week before your appointment. If you color your hair, do not forget your roots! Highlights should be touched up approximately one to two weeks before your session. Quick easy hairstyle changes during your session are OK, but practice making these changes so you don't loose time in front of the camera.
Hats, scarves, jewelry, boots, jackets, belts, and coats make stylish additions to your basic outfits. Accessories contribute to a variety of looks for your portrait collections. Personal props help visually define who you are. Some popular choices are: sports equipment, musical instruments, posters, pennants, hunting equipment, skateboards, uniforms, and collectibles. Look inside yourself to find your personal symbols; then look in your closet!
What 2 Wear
The camera loves solid colors and jewel tones. Black is back and it looks great on everybody. Think "creative." Think "variety." Think "outside the box!" We want you to bring several color choices so we can coordinate them with different backgrounds.Be your own fashion critic! Choose different styles, colors, and textures of clothing. Remember that your pictures can represent all seasons. Bring a range of clothing despite the actual weather. Bring an assortment of spring, summer, winter, and fall pieces! Bring something unique. Assemble at least one outfit that represents your wilder side! Be fab, be colorful, be fun! On the day before your session, prepare and press your clothes. Arrange them by outfits and group them together on hangers. (Don't forget to pack the proper under garments too!) Try on the outfits. Be critical of the way they fit. Are you pleased with each "look?" If you don't like a certain "look" in the mirror, then you won't like that "look" in a photograph either. Pack your make-up, jewelry, props, and hair preparation products. We guarantee that a little preparation will make your session stress-free and fun-filled!
We are an on location business, which means all of your photos will be taken outdoors so we are at the mercy of the weather. Please do not fret if it rains on the day of your session, we will re-schedule for the next available date.
